Cycad (sotetsu in Japanese) is an ancient tree species that can be found in many fossil records. For its long known history, it is also called a living fossil! One magnificent cycad tree has dominated IPSR entrance for many years… However – is it, really, true? In our June Centennial Gallery, you can find where it was situated before – right in the front of the current library! Actually, this 350-year-old cycad has been only moved to the current location in 1999… How? Look at our “moving” Gallery!
