Currently, the fourth 6-year term of JURC program promoted by the Ministry of Education, Sports, Culture, Science and Technology in Japan (MEXT) is carried on since April 2022 offering following international research support in 2026.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-7855\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rib.okayama-u.ac.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/collabo-main.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"951\" height=\"359\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><u>Purpose<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In thriving globalization process, IPSR aims becoming an international \u201chub\u201d in plant stress science and bio-resources that actively works for achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). As undertaking, IPSR now invites foreign researchers to develop collaborative research with IPSR in the period of June, 2026 \u2013 March, 2027. Exchange of young scientists, including PhD students, is particularly encouraged. In principle, we will cover travel costs and living expenses in Japan for a period of approximately two weeks to one month, while suitable research environment and consumables will be provided by local IPSR host group(s) (see budget distribution below). As part of each project, <u>we also encourage establishment of Memorandum of Understanding<\/u> (MoU) to facilitate future research exchange and collaboration between partner institutions.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The current <strong>2026 Call for Proposals<\/strong> is seeking for <strong>3-5 new projects<\/strong> in the abovementioned areas of plant stress biology and bio-resources that can benefit from the use of state-of-art equipment at IPSR (see <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rib.okayama-u.ac.jp\/english\/collaboration\/collaboration10\/\">Common instruments<\/a>), and from open research environment in the institute (see <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rib.okayama-u.ac.jp\/english\/research\/researchgroup-index\/\">Groups<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-7856 \" src=\"https:\/\/www.rib.okayama-u.ac.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/collabo-equipment.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"952\" height=\"270\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><u>Conditions<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Each proposal includes cover for travel expenses during research stay(s) at IPSR campus in Kurashiki, Japan, and consumables used in this research (up to JPY 100,000 &#8211; awarded to host PI@IPSR). Depending on availability, accommodation can be arranged on campus in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rib.okayama-u.ac.jp\/english\/collaboration\/guesthouse\">Kurashiki Guesthouse<\/a>.<br \/>\nThe amount of travel expenses will be determined based on the estimated amount indicated in the proposal application. If the applied amount is significantly higher than the estimated amount, or if the amount to be paid is significantly higher than the applied amount, the excess amount will not be paid.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><u>Application procedures<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Potential applicants are requested to (1) make direct contact with their intended principal host collaborator(s) at IPSR (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.rib.okayama-u.ac.jp\/english\/research\/researchgroup-index\">Group list<\/a>), and (2) discuss conditions, design and specific requirements for their experiments prior to (3) submitting their joint research application. Please note that name and consent of host PI at IPSR is required for acceptance of each proposal. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rib.okayama-u.ac.jp\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2026\/04\/02-Application-Form-IP-E1-2026.docx\">Application Form<\/a> should be sent by email to kyodo1247<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">AT<\/span>adm.okayama-u.ac.jp (replace AT with <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">@<\/span> before sending).
