This program is directly promoted by the Ministry of Education, Sports, Culture, Science and Technology in Japan (MEXT).<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.rib.okayama-u.ac.jp\/english\/2014colab\/attachment\/1\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-6912\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6912\" src=\"http:\/\/www.rib.okayama-u.ac.jp\/HP2012\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/1.png\" alt=\"1\" width=\"630\" height=\"241\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nAs part of the intense globalization process in Japan, IPSR aims to become an international \u201chub\u201d in plant stress science. Along with this idea, IPSR now invites foreign scientists to conduct collaborative research with selected IPSR group(s) in the period of <strong>mid-July 2015 \u2013 March 2016<\/strong>. Exchange of young scientists, including PhD students, is particularly welcomed and supported by this program. In principle, this program is designed to cover basic travel costs and living expenses up to several weeks in Japan, while suitable research environment is provided by the IPSR local group(s) (see budget distribution below).<br \/>\nThe current <strong>2015 Call for Proposals<\/strong> will support four new projects in the area of plant stress biology and bioresources that can directly benefit from the use of state-of-art equipment at IPSR (see <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rib.okayama-u.ac.jp\/english\/collaboration4_e\">common IPSR instruments<\/a>; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rib.okayama-u.ac.jp\/english\/collaboration3_e\">Advanced Network<\/a>\u00a0), and from the open research environment in the institute (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.rib.okayama-u.ac.jp\/english\/researchgroup_index_e\">groups<\/a>).<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.rib.okayama-u.ac.jp\/english\/2015-call-for-the-international-ipsr-joint-usageresearch-center-research-proposals\/attachment\/2\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-6914\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6914\" src=\"http:\/\/www.rib.okayama-u.ac.jp\/HP2012\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/2.png\" alt=\"2\" width=\"670\" height=\"190\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nThe conditions for each proposal include financial support to cover travel expenses during research stay(s) at IPSR campus in Kurashiki, Japan (up to max. JPY 400,000), and consumables used in this research (up to max. JPY 100,000 awarded to host PI). Depending on seasonal availability, on-campus accommodation can be pre-arranged in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rib.okayama-u.ac.jp\/english\/guesthouse_e\">\u00a0<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.rib.okayama-u.ac.jp\/english\/guesthouse_e\">Kurashiki Guesthouse<\/a>. Potential applicants are requested to make direct contact with their intended principal collaborator(s) at IPSR (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.rib.okayama-u.ac.jp\/english\/researchgroup_index_e\">group list<\/a>), and discuss conditions, design and specific requirements for their experiments prior to submitting the joint-application.
