【Application to environmental stress tolerance breeding】

In this research team, we will prepare a set of transformed barley that individually destroyed or suppress expression of mineral transport and its stress-related genes. We will perform “comprehensive analysis of barley’s mineral stress tolerance mechanism”. By destroying family genes individually, we can clarify the functions and effects of each gene. As rice mutants are already available, we can expect comparative analysis with rice and mechanism elucidation on stress tolerance of barley.
