Agreement of Cooperation signed between Makerere and Okayama Universities

The Agreement of Cooperation between leading Ugandan Makerere University (MU) and Okayama University (OU) was signed on 8th November 2016 in a short ceremony held at the Embassy of Japan in Kampala. This agreement is a result of the initial contacts between IPSR and MU staff that took part about three years ago. The signees, President of the OU Prof. Kiyoshi Morita, and the Vice Chancellor of the MU, Prof. John Ddumba-Ssentamu both expressed their sincere hopes that both institutions will mutually benefit from this 5-year agreement, and it will promote future exchange of students, information, and further collaboration ties between MU and OU. The ceremony was witnessed by H.E. Kazuaki Kameda, the Ambassador of Japan to Uganda, the Chancellor of Makerere University, Prof. Ezra Suruma, and delegations from both universities, as well as Embassy staff. The event was broadly reported in local TV news, online resources, and in detailed feature article available at MU website:
