Visit from Indonesia at IPSR

On Wednesday November-27, a delegation from Indonesia representing Indonesian Government (Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education) visited the Institute of Plant Science and Resources in Kurashiki. The visit was part of the monitoring process in higher education program that currently sponsors 82 Indonesian students pursuing their doctoral studies overseas, of which 22 students are in Japanese Universities. Following student report, presented by D3 student Kadis Mujiono from the Group of Plant Insect-Interactions, all members engaged in informal discussion and exchange of opinions about possible collaborations and building of research networks between Indonesian institutions and Okayama University. It was concluded that such collaborations would be highly beneficial for both sides, and in the future, the students currently involved in studying in Japan could form a natural bridge between both nations, leading to deeper research collaborations, exchange of knowledge, and friendship between countries. Finally, delegation was introduced to advanced IPSR facilities, and all members departed for a short visit of Kurashiki and Bikan historical area.
